If you’ve played with Channel emails, you’ll notice that it just goes to the Posts inside Teams, but enabling this setting will send an email to the whole group and have it land in their personal inbox instead of just posting to the channel. Beware, though, members can turn off these emails and ignore you completely, so be sparing with what you send to the whole group. Here’s a little tutorial on how to manage those. Note that only the OWNER of a Team can make this happen, so also be aware of who are owners and who are members.

Here is a PDF of the tutorial if you prefer that.

Tip! – Create an Email Template in Outlook https://blogs.jccc.edu/2024/06/28/tip-create-an-email-template-in-outlook/ Fri, 28 Jun 2024 15:07:16 +0000 http://blogs.jccc.edu/?p=6533 Creating a template in Outlook is quite an easy task, but the navigation to get there is somewhat hidden. You’ll find “My Templates” in the App icon in the Insert or Message ribbon. If you use the desktop application, you can manually put it in your ribbon, but if you use the online version, you’ll have an extra click. Still, a couple of clicks is easy if you don’t have to type a whole email! Here’s a short tutorial on how to do it.

Tip! Stop Canvas messages from going to Junk or Clutter https://blogs.jccc.edu/2021/02/16/tip-stop-canvas-messages-from-going-to-junk-or-clutter/ Tue, 16 Feb 2021 19:17:24 +0000 http://blogs.jccc.edu/?p=4518 First and foremost: Canvas does not have an email feature, but through “Notifications” process, Canvas can forward notices to the email you have set for this. And, yes, sometimes those notifications are moved to your spam or junk mail folder on whatever email system you are using.

The trick is to edit the setting on your email to recognize that email sent from Canvas are not spam. Unfortunately this is different on all email systems. Here is some help for the big two:

How to prevent email from going to Junk in Outlook?

How to prevent emails from landing in Gmail’s Spam Folder
